Those six facts are sent to the carriers to generate quotes. Your name, address and phone number are never collected unless you decide to apply.

The final premium, after underwriting, may move up or down; the carrier's decision is the only promise that matters. After you pick a carrier, you move into a secure application that is already filled with the answers you gave. You can pause and come back to it anytime. You sign electronically, and the application is handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129).

It depends on the carrier, the amount you want and what you tell them about your health. Many carriers now offer immediate decisions for eligible applicants without an exam; each quote on this site tells you whether an exam is required, might be required, or is not required.

A term is the time your coverage lasts. If you have a mortgage that will be paid off in 20 years, or kids who will be independent in 25 years, pick a term that matches that timeline. Longer terms lock in your rate for longer; shorter terms cost less per month. The quote tool shows you the difference side by side for 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year terms.
